ROUNDUP OF HELPFUL RESOURCES FOR ATTRACTIONS OWNERS & OPERATORS
April 22, 2020A SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDE TO STREET CURLING
May 18, 2020
While we can’t physically gather together, we are all at home connecting online. By continuing to show up online and interact with your customers, you can build your connection with them, keep them entertained and stay top of mind. When all this is over, everyone is going to want to gather with friends — and you want your location to be where they celebrate together!
What does your customer’s life look like right now? They’re probably sitting at home on their phone (while trying to balance working from home, maybe parenting, trying to stay sane, and wash their hands 100 times a day). Reach them right on their phone by continuing to share on social media! Facebook and Instagram usage has doubled, meaning that more people than ever are online, ready to hear from you.
In times of crisis, we connect online. Social media is the best place to build your community right now. Ensure you are posting online consistently to stay relevant to your customers. If you are struggling with content, think about how you can provide your audience with entertainment. We all want a little sense of normalcy back in our lives, so if you can make someone laugh or smile online, you have yourself a win.
It’s important to provide timely updates on social media to keep your audience informed. Can they buy gift cards online? How can they contact you? Can they order food online? When you reopen, what will your cleaning protocols be? Establishing these informational posts will keep your audience up to date and then you can build on that content with fun, engaging content.
Stuck on what to post? Try some of these ideas:
- Show the behind the scenes of the business right now and what your staff is up to. What does working at home look like? How are you planning for the future of the business? What are you doing outside of work (gardening, cooking, baking, organizing)? Build a personal relationship with your customers!
- Challenge your audience to try and recreate some of your activities at home (okay, maybe not axe throwing!) like arcade games, roller coasters - has everyone seen the video of the laundry basket rollercoaster?, football bowling, and even curling!
- Post relevant memes that your audience can relate to - whether they’re specific to working from home, being bored, or getting through the stay at home orders.
- Go live with local influencers or people of importance to host a DJ set, a live cooking show, or a conversation about what’s new.
- Shoutout local businesses who are supporting the community during these times.
- Introduce staff members and share a few personal facts
- Provide the backstory of the business - share the backstory, what inspired it, and how it all got started.
Your customers are looking for an escape online, something to make them feel safe and forget their worries. By posting online, you can continue to grow your community and strengthen your social media presence in preparation for your reopening.
